PASTORS

Study to show YOURSELF approved UNTO GOD
IF your pastor won't abide by THE WORD or listen to THE HOLY SPIRIT then they won't listen to you.

The Truth - from the Word of God. Both Old and New Testaments record the word PASTOR only nine(9) times and of those 9 times eight (8) are in the plural and one (1) in
the singular.Of those nine (9) times eight (8) are in the Old testament and only one (1) in the New.
The Old Testament Hebrew word used was (Ra ah) raw-aw 7462 Strongs Concordance meaning to tend a flock i.e. pasture it.
The New testament Greek word used was poimhvn (poimen)-poy-mayne 4166 Strongs Concordance meaning a shepherd.
Of the nine (9) times Pastor is mentioned throughout the entire Bible seven (7) of those carry a strong rebuke and condemnation from God.
Of the other two (2) one is the record of Jeremiahs prayer Jeremiah 17:16 and the other is the mention in Ephesians 4:11 along with the ascension gift ministries.
The Greek word poimhvn-(poimen)-poy-mayne is used 18times in the New Testament, 17 as Shepherd 1 as Pastor.
As this is a scriptural analysis of Pastoral posturing it needs to be noted that as elder, bishop, overseer and pastor are used interchangeably in the New Testament with pastor in the plural as are the other ascension gift ministries of Ephesians 4:11. In fact if the law of consistency were considered that one (1) mention of pastor would not even rate a mention.
Now lets examine that comment and in so doing consider that there is no biblical requirement to qualify a pastor as pastor is an inherent gifting not a position or function as such but whilst there are a whole string of requirements for elders, deacons and bishops.
There is not one of the epistles addressed to The Pastor of the Church, neither is there any mention at all of Pastor in the New Testament other than that of Ephesians 4:11 yet we find the central structure, the main emphasis and the CEO of the 21st century church to have embraced a religious governmental structure which has no foundations in scripture.
If we are to be people of The Word then we ought to be desiring to see The Church restored to the founding principals and function of the Apostles and Prophets; Jesus HIMSELF being the chief corner stone.
True Christian leadership is marked by a servant spirit and a servant does not exercise hierarchical authority. If anything such authority as is necessary lies with the elders.
Titus 1:5 is the record..not to appoint pastors...but to appoint elders in every town....not in every denomination.
Much of our Christian activity and structure is a hand down from the Constantine and reformation eras. Prior to Constantine and the Christianization of the state by Constantine 323-329AD there is no historical or archeological evidence of the existence of any Christian church building. Christianity WAS the only living room religion in history.
Today we have an EMPHASIS on "the house of God" but prior to Constantine Christianity was the first and only religion ever to exist that did not erect such special temples as places of worship.
1) Can you tell me which of the NT Epistles were addressed to any Pastor or any particular "church" leader? NONE
(2) Did not "deaconage" only came about to release the "apostles" to the Word and Prayer.
(3) Was it not The Body of believers that chose men full of The Holy ghost to do this "considered menial" task, but these men [deacons] went on to do miracles....perhaps we have under categorized and demeanealized the deaconage eh!
Whilst pastors who hardly get a look in in The Word they have elevated themselves to Senior CEO position. Now lets examine that comment and in so doing consider that there is no biblical requirement to qualify a pastor whilst there are a whole string of requirements for elders, deacons and bishops.
(4) Can you tell me where Pastor, Shepherd gets a good rap in The Bible?
(5) Today we have self elevated "Senior Pastors" making others Junior Pastors. and if interchangeably they are SHEPHERDS that would make them Chief Shepherds.
(6) It has become apparent that Pastors have hijacked the "church" [fellowship of believers] as no significant recognition is given to pastors throughout the scriptures. Furthermore, the role of the "pastor" is to SERVE THE sheep, but todays "pastors" have reversed that ministry for the sheep to serve the "pastor's."...My vision, my ministry, my goals, my DNA etc.

ACTS 6 Reveals the corporate governance of the early church and the acknowledged responsibility of that governance to be given to the Word and Prayer.
The corporate governance of the early church exercised ministry in relationship to/with the body of believers.
The corporate governance of the early church had confidence in the body of believers in exercising spiritual discernment in the selection for ordination of ministries.
The body of believers presented those whom they selected to the those in corporate governance for confirmation and ordination.
Jerusalem continued to be the hub of revival where even bitter priestly men were converted to Christ.
The solidarity of corporate governance remained intact in the midst of the persecution of the early church as believers were scattered abroad. [Acts 8:3 The church in the house]
This dispersion of believers carried with it the opportunity and fulfilment of spreading the word to Judea, Samaria and the uttermost part of the earth. [Acts 8:1]
The mark of the apostolic ministry of Phillip evidenced itself as a result of the opportunities provided through…selection…ordination…and opportunity.
[a] Corporate governance provided selection opportunity
[b] Body of believers provided provided ordination opportunity
[c] Dispersion provided ministerial opportunity
ACTS 8:14 Bears testimony of THE CORPORATE GOVERNANCE to the recognition of another mans ministry and the desire to support that ministry from their own homebase..
MINISTRY IN RELATIONSHIP. were hallmarks of the early church in the midst of great revival.
CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
CORPORATE GOVERNANCES’ CONFIDENCE in the Body of believers
Believers recognition of THE CORPORATE GOVERNANCE.
It would appear that today we have stepped back somewhat from the confidence that such a system of Church Governance and confidence in The Body of Believers as being beneficial, desirous or practical in today’s world.
Yet in those days and even under persecution which we have not encountered they turned the then known world upside down.
